PErsonal Projects
2022
The Personal Project is a year-long process that encourages students to practise and strengthen their approaches to learning (ATL) skills. Based upon a personal interest of theirs, students try to consolidate all of their learnings from their subjects in the Middle Years Programme (MYP).
This independent project provides an excellent opportunity for students to produce a truly personal and unique product. They begin the process at the end of Grade 9 and use the summer to investigate a particular area of interest. Then at the start of Grade 10, students can dive deeper into their area and begin designing and creating their products.
One of the biggest challenges our students face is having to evidence the development of their AtL skills and write a report on the entire process. The final reflections mean we can close out the Personal Project and showcase their work. This is a process that has many hurdles and challenges; finding ways to overcome them is what helps our students move into High School.
