Mind, body and soul website blog

Rebecca

My personal objective is to become more educated and aware of my mental health while also engaging in activities that will support my continued physical and mental well-being. I feel that ever since covid hit hong kong I started to have a much more negative perspective on the country and over time I feel that it has gotten worse considering the rules and regulations Hong Kong has/is going through compared to other countries. This pandemic has been especially hard for international students as a lot of families decided to move back to their home countries meaning a drastic number of people have or are moving away, including a lot of my friends. This has made it very difficult to see the positives about where I live and I have decided I need to start focusing on myself because not everyone else is guaranteed to stay with me throughout my school experience. In order to feel better about my mind, body, and soul, I’m going to concentrate on myself. Yoga, hiking, beach trips, self-affirmations, journaling, socialising, etc, are a few examples. I’ll make a list of the things I’m going to do when I’m doing them, and whether I’m doing them alone or with others (if so, who). I’m motivated to do this because I’m passionate about helping people, and I’m hoping that sharing, it will inspire others to start putting their needs first. I hope that this will help me develop a new, positive perspective on the environment we live in because I sometimes find it difficult to find the time to take care of myself and do enjoyable activities for me, especially outside.

Managing my time could be a challenge considering I have school, and after-school activities/tutoring, but I will try my best to develop a plan to allow me to do at least 3 sorts of activities a week. Overall my final goal that I want to achieve by the end of this project is to have improved my mental health and discover which activities work best for me so I can start including them in my daily life.
