Dyslexia is a part of who I am. I wanted to better understand the working of my own brain, and this piece is intended graphically to represent how the structure and organisation of a dyslexic’s brain differs from those of people without dyslexia to help others understand – and therefore come to an acceptance of – people who might function differently to them.

I used plaster to replicate the brain’s 3D image on an MRI scan, and inserted lights to show the difference in the functioning of a dyslexic’s brain.
