Indian culture cookbook

My main goal is to learn to appreciate and acknowledge my cultural heritage in the form of food. I think it’s important to learn about the history of food in India which is my main nationality. I have always been interested in cooking and learning new recipes whether that be indian or another cuisine. I will be creating a cookbook where I will be documenting recipes and the stories behind them that run in my family’s background. In the past, I have stood by whoever cooked in my house and helped out with little things like adding in the spices or cutting the vegetables or meat. From doing this, I was able to experience elements of my family’s culinary choices and preferences. Living in Hong Kong for 14 years, I have lacked the chance to fully immerse myself into the culture in Southern Asia and be able to live the lifestyle and eat meals that my ancestors used to eat. My love for cooking came from my grandmother who has lived with me for most of my life, most of my recipes will be coming from experiences and meals she has had having a mixed background as a Malaysian and South Indian person.
